(10-28-2025) Hi everyone Power County Search and Rescue is looking into a couple grants to help purchase these two. Part of the grant application process is to have a community Q&A. As you can see one is a new boat, our current yellow boat is 18 years old and our back up boat is roughly 42 years old. The side by side is nothing like anything we currently have. The rig we have now, if we have to carry out a patient and a paramedic they are both strapped into a bed mounted skid on our Polaris Ranger. If we are able to obtain this grant for the one pictured below we could have them fully inclosed. Giving the paramedics space out of the elements to work on their patient.
Boat cost $175,421.00 grant match $35,084.20
MEDSTAT UTV cost $78,890.00 match $15,778.00
Like always thank you to everyone that comes out and supports us and another big thank you to all the business that donate and sponsor us!
"Power County Search & Rescue Needs Your Input!
Power County Search & Rescue is applying for the Idaho Department of Parks & Recreation Off-Road Vehicle Grant to help us purchase a Medstat ORV (off-road recreational vehicle) for our team. Before we submit our application, we want to hear from you - our community!
What is a Medstat ORV?
The Medstat is a specialized off-road ambulance designed for emergency response in areas that regular vehicles can't reach. It features a fully enclosed, all aluminum patient compartment that can secure a full size medical cot and seat up to two attendants in the back plus the driver and front passenger. With its rugged build and advanced suspension, the Medstat allows us to safely transport patients and responders across rough terrain, snow, mud, sand, and other challenging environments. This means faster, safer rescues in remote locations, improved patient care, and enhanced safety for our volunteers.
Why We Need Your Feedback:
Community involvement is a key part of our grant application. We want to know your thoughts concerns, and support regarding this project.
- Do you think a Medstat ORV would benefit our area?
- Are there specific locations or situations where you feel this vehicle would make a difference?
- Do you have questions or concerns about how it will be used?
Your feedback will help us demonstrate to the grant committee that this project is truly needed and supported by Power County residents.
How to Share Your Input:

Thank you for helping us keep Power County safe and prepared for any emergency.
