🚫🎆 No Fireworks Allowed in American Canyon or Anywhere in Napa County 🎆🚫

As we approach the Fourth of July, the American Canyon Fire Protection District, Marshal, American Canyon Police Department, and Lobo are reminding everyone that all fireworks are illegal throughout Napa County.

With dry vegetation, rising temperatures, and increasing fire danger, a single spark can quickly ignite a grass fire that threatens homes, businesses, and lives. What starts as a small fire can rapidly spread into a major wildfire or structure fire.

🔥 Help keep our community safe:
• Do not use or possess fireworks.
• Maintain defensible space and clear dry vegetation around your home.
• Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
• Report fire activity immediately by calling 9-1-1.
• Attend professional fireworks displays instead of using personal fireworks.

Our firefighters and police officers are committed to protecting our community, but prevention starts with all of us.

Let's work together to keep American Canyon safe this holiday season.

☀️ Summer Is Here, American Canyon! ☀️

With temperatures projected to reach 97°F today, now is the time to take heat safety seriously.

💧 Stay hydrated—drink water before you're thirsty.
🌳 Take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning.
🐾 Don't forget your pets—provide plenty of fresh water and never leave them in a vehicle.
👵 Check on older adults, young children, and neighbors who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
🚗 Remember: the inside of a parked car can become deadly in minutes.

Know the signs of heat illness: dizziness, nausea, heavy sweating, confusion, or loss of consciousness. If you suspect heat stroke, call 911 immediately.

Stay cool, stay safe, and enjoy the start of summer! ☀️

ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER

American Canyon is not under a red flag warning, but this is a good reminder that fire is already a risk this season.

Conditions can change, so stay tuned for updates.

⚠️ ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER THREAT THROUGH MONDAY

We are tracking a period of elevated fire weather risk across the Interior Bay Area and Central Coast through Monday afternoon. While the overall risk level is currently "Minor," the combination of dry fuels and gusty winds creates a recipe for rapid fire spread if an ignition occurs.

What to expect:

Humidity: Very dry conditions with RH values between 10-25%, especially in the higher terrain across the region.

Winds: Sustained winds of 20-30 mph, with local gusts reaching 45-50 mph.

Impacts: Rapid rates of spread possible on any wind-and-terrain aligned starts.

How you can help:
Practice "One Less Spark" today. Avoid using lawnmowers or grinders in dry vegetation, ensure tow chains aren't dragging on the pavement, and never leave a campfire unattended.
