Huge congratulations to senior Evan Kilbasea, who just won a $5,600 scholarship at the 58th annual Carroll F. Johnson Scholastic Achievement Dinner—making him the first student from Webutuck to ever receive this award! 🎉

Evan attended the event alongside Valedictorian Giana Kall and Salutatorian Zaina AbouEid. Inspired by the incredible teachers and mentors he found here, Evan plans to go into education himself: "I'll never forget my experience at Webutuck and I'll someday teach other students how I was taught here." ❤️

Please join us in celebrating Evan's achievement and our amazing seniors!

Oh the places you’ll go! Principal, Mrs. Coppola shared some beautiful words today about just how much the students have grown and how ready they are for the next big adventure: Middle School. The kids are officially counting down the days and can’t wait to hit the Middle School hallways. Making new friends! 🥰

Back on May 14th, our Eugene Brooks Intermediate School 6th graders took an unforgettable trip to the American Museum of Natural History! From the Hayden Planetarium to massive dinosaur bones, 🦖 their science and social studies lessons truly came to life.

For many of our students, this was their very first time visiting the Big Apple! As a 6th grader, Yamen Gadalla put it: "It was really fun, exciting, and I learned a lot of stuff." 🚌❤️

A huge thank you to the Webutuck Quest for Excellence Fund at () for the generous grant that made this incredible real-world learning experience possible!

Beyond the Classroom: When Literature Comes to Life!

Back in February, Mrs. Kerrigan’s 9th graders wrapped up a unit on Romeo and Juliet and West Side Story. By a total stroke of luck, Mrs. Kerrigan found out that the hit Broadway tour of & Juliet was coming to the historic Proctors theatre in Schenectady—and she immediately jumped on the opportunity!

Wanting to share the magic, Mrs. Kerrigan opened the trip to all 9th-12th graders. Thanks to a generous donation from our wonderful PTA, 36 excited students and 4 chaperones headed out for an unforgettable day and afternoon at the theater.

According to Mrs. Kerrigan, the students were absolutely "wowed!" For many, this was their very first time experiencing live theater of this scale, creating a core memory that will stay with them for years to come.

Thank you, Mrs. Kerrigan, for your vision and dedication, and thank you to our District and community for supporting the arts! ❤️
