This is a test. At 11:00 AM this morning, Beaver County will be testing the sirens in the 10 Mile Emergency Planning Zone for Beaver Valley Power Station, this is only a test and there is no emergency.

The annual siren test is tomorrow, September 8th at 11am. The emergency sirens within the 10-mile radius of the Beaver Valley Power Station will be activated. These outdoor warning sirens will sound for a steady 3 minutes.

Multiple trees and wires are down throughout Beaver County.

DLC crews are working to assess damage and restore power after severe weather moved through our region this evening. While we do not have restoration times available yet, please know we are working as quickly and safely as possible.

Remember — stay at least 30 feet from downed power lines and anything in contact with them, including puddles. Please give our crews plenty of space to work safely.

• If you see a downed line or other hazardous situation, call DLC's emergency line at 888-393-7000.
• Report outages or damage through DLC’s mobile app, DuquesneLight.com or at 888-393-7100, for those without internet access.
• Immediately call 9-1-1 for any other emergencies.

Here is the current standing of State issued Air Quality Alerts. Smoke and air quality is expected to worsen today before improvement is possible Saturday morning. Residents are urged to take precautions and heed the advice of State and Local Agencies to protect themselves from the effects of wildfire smoke.

🚨 **AIR QUALITY ALERT & 911 CALLS** 🚨

We are currently experiencing poor air quality due to wildfire smoke from Canada.

Our 911 lines have been receiving a high volume of calls about the air quality today. While we understand these concerns, these calls can delay responses to active, life-threatening emergencies and prevent dispatchers from answering emergency calls as quickly as possible.

**To Protect Yourself:**
✅ Stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed.
✅ Set your home A/C and vehicle ventilation to **"recirculate"** to help keep outside air from entering.
✅ Limit outdoor activity, especially strenuous exercise.

⚠️ **Sensitive groups**—including children, older adults, and anyone with respiratory conditions such as asthma or COPD—should remain indoors as much as possible.
