You may have been dive bombed by these massive insects, but don't worry, they aren't an Asian giant hornet or "murder hornet" as they are called because of the damage they do the bee population. These are cicada killers that emerge in June from holes in the ground.

Texas A&M AgriLife entomologists are being inundated with cicada killers and other insects submitted for identification as an Asian giant hornet.

Across the state, wheat producers are gathering their harvest, as are Texas A&M AgriLife faculty and cooperators who annually plant uniform variety trials to help determine the best selections for a given region for next year. While producers couldn't come into our fields this year, we still wanted to bring our trials and information to everyone. Take a look at what we saw in a virtual wheat tour from the different regions.
