Access to Civil War Records on Fold3.‌com® will be free until 17 July 2022 at 11:59 p.m. MT. Registration required. After the free access period ends, you will only be able to view records using a paid Fold3.com subscription.

Fold3 features premier collections of original military records. These records include the stories, photos, and personal documents of the men and women who served in the military. Many of records come the U.S. National Archives, The National Archives of U.K. and many others.

Finding Your Roots: A Family Celebration

on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at the Downtown Amarillo Public Library.

The Open House is free and everyone is welcome to come and go from 3:00 PM - 7:00 PM.

Activities for all ages include:
a hands-on family tree activity in the Maker Space,
tours of the resources at the library,
screenings of episodes of the Finding Your Roots TV program on PBS,
computers available for genealogy research,
and knowledgeable staff to get you started or expand your research.


We look forward to seeing you there supporting our public library and
Panhandle PBS.

Our Mission The purpose of the Amarillo Genealogical Society is to promote the study of genealogy throughout the Panhandle area. The society sponsors monthly programs which cover research methods, regional history, availability of records, and ways to store and share the information gathered.
