Last week, the Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine team hit the road with Meals on Wheels Amarillo—and what a great day it was!

The students and their professor made their rounds, caring for some very special four-legged members of our Meals on Wheels family. They looked after the wonderful Callie the cat, and of course, the dynamic duo of Blackie and Shorty! 🐱🐾

It was another great example of what makes this partnership so special. Our seniors get the peace of mind knowing their beloved pets are cared for, while veterinary students gain valuable experience and the joy of serving our community.

Today, the road to better health has a few extra paws along the way! 🐾❤️

Our friends from Texas Tech University School of Veterinary Medicine are out making their rounds, bringing veterinary care directly to the pets of our senior clients.

This partnership is truly a win-win. Our clients and their beloved pets receive important veterinary care, while students gain valuable, hands-on experience and the opportunity to serve the community they are learning to care for.

A huge thank-you to the students and faculty for giving their time, knowledge and hearts to our community!

A group of great volunteers from Pantex helped package pet food last week! They were so wonderful and helpful! We finished in less than an hour! We are so grateful to have the support of our amazing community!

Meals on Wheels of Amarillo is honored and excited to partner with Amarillo Little Theatre for Driving Miss Daisy, running August 13–23!
We’re especially proud to be part of a production that has completely sold out! What an incredible testament to the love and support our community has for Amarillo Little Theatre and the arts in Amarillo.

We'll have a table in the lobby for each show! We're so grateful to ALT for including us in this special production, and we can’t wait to see the community come together for Driving Miss Daisy! ❤️

A meal can mean so much more than food. ❤️

A recent The Amarillo Tribune article highlights the growing need among Amarillo’s seniors—and the vital role Meals on Wheels plays in meeting that need.

When Susie Akers began with Meals on Wheels, 180 seniors were being served. Today, that number has grown to more than 330.

As changes to SNAP may leave more people struggling to put food on the table, our mission becomes even more important.

No senior should have to wonder where their next meal is coming from.

Thank you to every volunteer, donor, and supporter who helps us make sure our seniors are not forgotten.

Caring for our clients means caring for the companions who bring them comfort every day.

Our team recently had some wonderful volunteers join us to help package pet food for our AniMeals program, including some amazing young ladies from the Girl Scouts!
