Our public schools are the backbone of our communities, and every Texas child deserves a quality education, no matter where they live. Public school vouchers take critical resources away from our public schools, weakening the foundation of our education system. We must stand strong against this threat and fight for the schools that serve all our children. Let’s work together to protect our public schools and ensure every student has the opportunity to succeed. Texas kids deserve better!

This is more than just another election; it's a moment for us to come together as one community and shape the future of our beloved Texas Panhandle. Our region is rich with hard-working, resilient, and compassionate people, and it is my deepest honor to stand before you as a candidate committed to representing each and every one of you.

This election is about more than policies and promises—it's about the values we hold dear. Hello, my name is Timothy Gassaway and I am absolutely thrilled to share my journey with you all as I step into the race for Texas State House of Representatives, District 87. Born and bred in the vibrant community of Amarillo, my roots run deep in this soil, even though my professional pursuits led me to Dallas for over three decades. I’m a proud property owner, a dedicated businessman, and the proud founder of the Amarillo Area Black Chamber of Commerce. Not stopping there, I also played a pivotal role as a co-founder and the interim president of The Greater North Heights Neighborhood Association, where we’ve been making strides in enriching our community’s life.

My heart has always been with the people of Amarillo, a commitment reflected through my collaborative efforts with Services of Hope to launch monthly food giveaways. These initiatives have been a beacon of hope for countless families grappling with food insecurity, a challenge that only intensified during the pandemic. In those trying times, I was at the forefront, working alongside local partners to organize a city-wide food distribution event, providing essential meat and produce to those in dire need.

This journey of service and advocacy is not just a testament to my dedication but a clear indication of my commitment to innovation and utilizing every available resource to uplift the people of Amarillo.
