THANK YOU, ALVIN CITY COUNCIL!

On behalf of the Alvin Police Officers Association and our membership, we would like to sincerely thank Councilwoman Davis, Councilwoman DeKyzer, Councilman Garivey, Councilman Salter, Councilman Vela, Councilman Moore, and Councilman Vaughn for their unanimous support and vote to approve the pay scale presented by the APOA.

Over the past several months, our Association has worked diligently through the collective bargaining process to address inconsistencies within our pay structure, improve our competitiveness with surrounding agencies, and develop a plan that supports the recruitment and retention of quality police officers while remaining fiscally responsible to our community.

Thursday nights unanimous vote was more than an investment in a pay scale, it was an investment in the men and women who serve and protect the City of Alvin every day.

We sincerely appreciate Council taking the time to listen to our concerns, review the information and data presented, and ultimately support our officers.

Our membership does not take that support for granted.

To our Mayor and City Council: thank you for listening, thank you for your support, and thank you for investing in the men and women of the Alvin Police Department and the future of public safety in our community.

💜 APOA PROUDLY SUPPORTS THE 22ND ANNUAL BENEEEZY PURPLE MONKEY FUN RUN! 💜

The Alvin Police Officers Association is proud to donate $300 and serve as a sponsor of the 22nd Annual Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run, taking place Saturday, September 5, 2026, with the first event kicking off at 7:00 a.m.

The APOA is proud to support organizations and events that give back to our students, citizens, and community. The Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run has become a great Alvin tradition, and we are honored to play a small part in supporting the work they do and the people they help.

A special thank you to Coach Lenny Garcia and Mrs. Vicki Garcia for allowing the Alvin Police Officers Association to be a part of such a great cause and for everything you continue to do for our community.

Last night, during the Alvin Police Officers Association’s quarterly membership meeting, we had the opportunity to meet with Jon Albin, candidate for Brazoria County Justice of the Peace, Precinct 3, Place 2.

After hearing from Jon and discussing his qualifications, our membership proudly voted unanimously to endorse and fully support his candidacy.

Jon has dedicated more than 25 years to local law enforcement, proudly served our nation as a United States Marine, and has demonstrated the integrity, professionalism, and commitment to public service that make him exceptionally well qualified to serve as Justice of the Peace.

💙 The Alvin Police Officers Association extends our heartfelt prayers and deepest condolences to our brothers and sisters at the Texas Department of Public Safety during this tragic time.

We work closely with DPS Troopers and know the dedication and sacrifice they make each day in service to others. Our thoughts and prayers are with Trooper Romero’s family, friends, and fellow Troopers as they mourn this tremendous loss.

Rest easy, Trooper Romero. We have the watch from here. 🙏🙏💙

Today, Texas DPS Trooper Sergio Romero was killed in the line of duty near Childress in a vehicle accident.

Trooper Romero leaves behind his wife, two young children, and a law enforcement family that is mourning an unimaginable loss.

We stand with his loved ones and our brothers and sisters at the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Rest easy, Trooper Romero. Your watch is over.

Tonight, the Alvin Police Officers Association proudly celebrates three outstanding members who were officially promoted during the Alvin City Council meeting.

🔹 Officer Trace Darnell was promoted to Corporal
🔹 Corporal Jason Cleere was promoted to Sergeant
🔹 Sergeant Jay Jackson was promoted to Lieutenant

Each of these men has demonstrated exceptional dedication, professionalism, leadership, and commitment to serving the citizens of Alvin. Their promotions are well-earned and reflect the hard work, sacrifice, and perseverance they have shown throughout their careers.

Trace, Jason, and Jay have each made a positive impact on our department and community, and we are excited to see them continue to lead and serve in their new roles. These promotions are not only a testament to their individual achievements but also a reflection of the strong future of the Alvin Police Department.

Today, May 15th, we recognize National Peace Officers Memorial Day and honor the brave men and women in law enforcement across our nation who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others.

Their courage, dedication, and selflessness will never be forgotten. We also want the families, friends, and fellow officers of our fallen heroes to know that we stand with you today and always. You remain in our continued thoughts and prayers as we remember those who gave everything in the line of duty.

The Alvin Police Officers Association would like to extend a huge thank you to the Alvin Police Department Chaplains for providing our officers and members with an amazing BBQ lunch, topped off with some incredible banana pudding in honor of National Police Week.

The Chaplains also took the time to recognize all of our female members in law enforcement both civilian and sworn by providing them with flowers, a thoughtful gesture that was greatly appreciated by everyone.

Your continued support, encouragement, and dedication to our department and members never goes unnoticed. To our Chaplains, thank you for all that you do for the men and women of our Association and Department every single day.
