Today, the Alvin Police Department joins communities across the nation in observing Peace Officers Memorial Day.

May 15 is a day set aside to honor the law enforcement officers who have been killed or disabled in the line of duty. We remember their sacrifice, their courage, and the commitment they made to protect and serve.

To the families, departments, and communities who carry their legacy forward, we stand with you in remembrance and gratitude.

The Alvin Police Department would like to extend a huge thank you to Connie and Caleb Isidori for stopping by and dropping off an amazing assortment of goodies and sweets for our employees during National Police Week.

Your kindness, generosity, and support mean more than words can express. Gestures like yours remind our officers and staff how much support they have from this incredible community. Thank you for taking the time to show your appreciation for the men and women who proudly serve Alvin each and every day. We truly appreciate you both!

Regulatory signs are not suggestions, vibes, or decorative roadside art. They are the law. 🚦

Speed limits mean speed limits, turn lanes are for turning, and the center turn lane is not your personal express lane. In Texas, drivers may only use the center turn lane for up to 200 feet while preparing to turn.

Read the signs. Obey the signs. Drive safe, Alvin.

The Alvin Police Department enjoyed spending yesterday morning with residents at the Stanton’s Shopping Center Coffee with Cops event.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to ask questions, share concerns, learn more about the department, or simply enjoy a cup of coffee and conversation with our officers. Events like this help strengthen the connection between our community and the men and women who serve it each day.

We appreciate everyone who joined us!

The Alvin Police Department and MyCHN have launched Aligned, a new collaborative mental health response program designed to connect individuals experiencing a mental health crisis with the care and support they need.

Through this program, APD officers can help identify situations where the primary need is mental health intervention rather than incarceration and connect eligible individuals with MyCHN’s Crisis and Behavioral Health teams for assessment, stabilization support, therapy, psychiatric services, care coordination, and follow-up.

Aligned is focused on what happens after the crisis response, helping build a stronger support network for individuals and families while maintaining public safety.

For non-emergency situations involving someone who may be experiencing a mental health crisis, residents can email [email protected]
for guidance and support options. To learn more about MyCHN’s behavioral health or crisis services, visit mychn.org/services/bh/ or call 281-824-1480 and ask for a crisis specialist.

During the May 7 City Council Meeting, Mayor Gabe Adame proclaimed May 10–16, 2026, as Police Week in the City of Alvin.

The Alvin Police Department is honored by this recognition as we take time to reflect on the courage, dedication, and professionalism of the men and women who serve in law enforcement. Police Week is also a time to remember the officers who have lost their lives or become disabled in the line of duty.

Peace Officers Memorial Day will be observed on Friday, May 15, 2026. We pause to honor their sacrifice, support their families, and express our gratitude to those who continue to protect and serve our community each day.

🚧 Orange barrels are not suggestions…and they are definitely not for bumper cars.

Corporal Cruz with the Alvin Police Department Traffic Enforcement Unit with a quick reminder as construction continues around Alvin: slow down, stay off your phone, watch the signs, and pay attention in work zones.

We all have families we want to get home to — and so do the people working in these construction zones.

Drive safe, Alvin.
