Honored to be asked to speak tonight at Troop 400 Flag Retirement Ceremony on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11. 🇺🇸

Each year, these young Scouts come together to lay weathered American flags to rest with dignity and respect. They pray over our first responders and veterans, honor those who have served, and represent our community incredibly well.

Officers from the Alvin Police Department, Crews from Alvin EMS, and Firefighters from the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department were present.

As we mark 25 years since 9/11, I think about the questions:

Will future generations understand what the words “Never Forget” truly mean?

Will they understand what it means to have pride in their country and respect for those who serve it?

Ceremonies like tonight give me renewed faith that we are raising strong young leaders who will carry those values forward.
I appreciate Troop 400 inviting me to be part of this special evening, and I enjoyed visiting with so many of you who came out to support them.

God Bless the City of Alvin, and God Bless the United States of America. 🇺🇸

Love this!! Taking time out of the busy day to talk about the Heroes of 9/11.

For 25 years, we have asked:

Where were you on September 11, 2001?

And for 25 years, we have said:

Never Forget.

But now I have another question:

Should I be worried that we will forget?

We now have an entire generation of young Americans who were not alive that day. Their understanding of September 11 will come from us.

Teach them the truth. Honor those we lost. Tell the story.

Never Forget. 🇺🇸

What a great morning in Alvin! My wife and I enjoyed participating in the 5K alongside members of the Alvin Volunteer Fire Department, friends, neighbors, and hundreds of runners who came out to support.

It was also great catching up with my friends, Alvin ISD Trustees Fernando Hinojosa, and Gabe Garza, and probably the hardest-working volunteer you’ll ever meet, Ms. Denise Stanaland of Alvin Blue Santa. My friend Jason also did a great job keeping everyone entertained as emcee!

Even after retirement, Coach Lenny Garcia continues to serve this community and the students of Alvin ISD. Coach Garcia, his wife Victoria, and an army of volunteers put in countless hours each year to make this event possible and raise scholarship funds for local students.

Monica and I are grateful we had the opportunity to be a small part of it. Thank you to everyone who volunteered, sponsored, ran, walked, cheered, or helped make the Beneeezy Purple Monkey Fun Run another great success!

Show your support for Troop 400 and honor our nation on the 25th anniversary of September 11th. 🇺🇸

Troop 400 will host a Flag Retirement Ceremony at 7:00 PM on September 11th at National Oak Park, respectfully retiring American flags while honoring those who serve and remembering those we lost.

A meaningful way to come together as a community and NEVER FORGET.

Jacket Pride Never Dies!

Way to go, Alvin ISD student, Brooks Scott. I applaud his parents for raising this young man to be such an outstanding individual and, in the words of Principal Ford, the "true definition of a student-athlete" with an impressive 6.87 GPA.

I am excited to see what the future holds for this young man. As a community, we must rally behind our students and let them know we support them in their future endeavors. We stand with them through their failures and their successes, because we are always stronger when we stand together.

Congratulations, Brooks!
