Thank you for all the Birthday messages I really appreciate it. Check out this very cool gift that the Maples family gave me. These belt buckles were made when our city celebrated its Centennial a few decades ago.

Fun fact about the Maples family- For nearly 50 years one or more members of their family has been serving Alvin as a volunteer firefighter.

Data Center update in Brazoria County.

June 9th County commissioners approved a resolution regarding data centers. This multi-page resolution outlines guidelines they would like to see put in place in order to appropriately govern the region.

Tonight, I had the opportunity to celebrate with a packed boardroom, standing room only, as our community came together to support my friend Fernando Hinojosa as he was sworn in as an Alvin ISD Board of Trustees member.

This is truly a once-in-a-generation moment for Alvin ISD. Fernando went from Alvin ISD student to teacher, and now he has chosen to continue serving our district as a trustee.

I have no doubt Fernando will do amazing things for our district. We need committed leaders like him in these important positions.

Fernando, your community is behind you, and we know the future looks bright.

Congratulations as well to Earl Humbird on your retirement. Your 21 years of service on the school board have left a lasting impression on all of us. Way to go Gabe Garza and congratulations on your re-election.

My friend Alvin ISD Trustee Cheryl Harris and I were the special guest readers today at the Alvin Rec Center. Thank you to the Alvin ISD Book Bus for working hard all summer to keep our students reading all summer long. My daughter came with me to make sure I was on my best behavior.
