🛹 ALVARADO SKATE PARK UPDATE! 🛹

Have you been wondering where the Skate Park went? 👀

Well, it’s coming back and it has a NEW HOME! 🎉

📍 The new Skate Park area is located on Bill Jackson Street, across from the Alvarado ISD building.

Construction is moving along, and we’re looking forward to seeing this space completed and ready for our kids and families to enjoy!

🛹 Completion is coming soon… so hang ten, Alvarado! 🤙

This is exactly the kind of investment in our youth and our community that we need to continue moving forward.

💙👮‍♀️ Honoring the Women Behind the Badge 👮‍♀️💙

Today, on National Police Women’s Day, the Alvarado Police Department recognizes the women who have chosen a career of service and answered a call that demands courage, commitment, and sacrifice.

From patrol to investigations, leadership to community outreach, the women who wear the badge bring unique strength and perspective to our profession. They show up every day ready to face challenges, help those in need, and make a difference in the lives of the people they serve.

We are proud of the women who represent Alvarado PD and grateful for the example they set for those who may one day follow in their footsteps.

To every woman who has worn or currently wears the badge: your service matters, your dedication is appreciated, and your impact reaches far beyond the uniform.

💙 Today, we salute you.

🏗️ A Quick Update on Our Building Renovation

We wanted to share a quick update regarding our plans to renovate and improve our building.

At this time, we will not be moving forward with the EDC funding that was made available for the proposed renovations. While that particular avenue is no longer an option for us, our vision for improving the building has not changed.

We believe in investing in our property, improving its appearance and functionality, and continuing to contribute positively to our community.

We will now be exploring other avenues that may help us accomplish these improvements.

Sometimes the path forward looks a little different than originally planned but that doesn't mean we stop moving forward. ❤️

We appreciate everyone's support and look forward to sharing more as we continue working toward our goals!

🌳✨ LOOK WHAT’S COMING TO DOWNTOWN ALVARADO! ✨🌳

A few months ago, the Alvarado EDC approved this project, helping make this exciting transformation of our Downtown Square possible. Now, we’re getting closer to seeing that vision come to life!

Take a look at these before-and-after photos of what is coming to Downtown Alvarado.

We’re transforming an underused space into a beautiful community gathering area with:

🌳 Shade structures to make the space more comfortable
💡 String lighting to create a welcoming atmosphere
🪑 Picnic tables and seating for families, friends and visitors
🌿 Landscaping and greenery to add beauty to downtown
🚶 A pedestrian-friendly gathering space where people can slow down and enjoy downtown

But this is about more than landscaping and picnic tables.

It’s about creating a place for people. ❤️

Alvarado has a lot to be proud of, and projects like this help us create the kind of downtown our community can enjoy for years to come.

A special thank you to the Alvarado EDC for recognizing the potential of this space and approving the project a few months ago. We’re excited to see it move from an idea to something our community can actually enjoy. 🙌

This is just the beginning. Let’s keep making Downtown Alvarado a place we’re proud to call home. ❤️🇺🇸
