Here’s a new scam going around. If you look close, and know Oklahoma, we are pretty sure there’s no St.Louis county and Clayton Missouri isn’t in Oklahoma either.
There isn’t even an Oklahoma statute 47 O.S. § 11-112.

Woods County roads aren’t your dumping ground.
These photos were taken right here in our county — and this kind of trash doesn’t just look bad. It harms livestock, blows into fields, blocks ditches, and costs taxpayers to clean up.

🚫 Illegal dumping is a crime

Under 21 O.S. § 1761.1, it’s unlawful to “place, throw, drop, dump, deposit, or discard any garbage, trash, waste, rubbish, refuse, debris, or other deleterious substance on public property or private property without consent.”
Violations can bring fines up to $5,000 and even jail time.

🌾 Help keep Woods County clean

Secure your loads. Use proper disposal sites. Report illegal dumping when you see it.

🚨 Kilted & On Duty 🚨

Today, Deputy Callahan, took full advantage of the opportunity to bring a little tradition (and a lot of style) to the job—rocking a kilt while proudly honoring his Irish heritage!
From patrol to traffic stops, this deputy proved that professionalism doesn’t have to come without personality. While most stuck to the standard uniform, he kept things a bit more breezy—and definitely more memorable.

🍀Happy Saint Patrick’s Day🍀

🍀 ST. PATRICK’S DAY NOTICE FROM THE WOODS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE 🍀

Sheriff McCullough has declared that this Tuesday, in honor of St. Patrick’s Day, our deputies are officially allowed to trade in their uniform pants for kilts.

Yes… kilts.
Yes… in public.
And yes… we’re as nervous as you are.

If you spot one of our deputies out on patrol looking like they just stepped out of an Irish family reunion, don’t be alarmed. They’re still fully trained, fully professional, and fully committed to keeping Woods County safe—just with a little extra breeze and a whole lot of holiday spirit.

Stay safe, enjoy the day, and may your luck be better than whatever the wind has planned for our deputies.

If you have to ask, the answer is always NO. ❌

02/20/2026

There were 11,775 fatalities in speeding-related crashes in 2023 nationwide — a decrease of 3.1% (12,157) from 2022.

Oklahoma, however, saw an increase in speeding-related fatalities with 159 fatalities in 2022 and 230 fatalities in 2023.

There are serious, and often deadly, consequences when we choose to drive recklessly and speed. Drivers, obey the posted speed limit and slow down as needed for bad weather or road conditions.

Let’s get there together, Oklahoma!
