🍄 Shiitake Mushroom Inoculation Class! 🌱

Ever wondered how shiitake mushrooms are grown on logs? Join us for a hands-on Shiitake Mushroom Inoculation Class at 10:00am on September 12th. Learn the basics of growing your own delicious mushrooms at home by Master Naturalist, Barry Curry!

During this workshop, you’ll learn:
🍄 How to select and prepare logs for shiitake cultivation
🌱 How to inoculate logs with shiitake mushroom spores
🛠️ The tools and techniques needed for successful inoculation
💧 How to care for your logs while the mushrooms develop
🍽️ Tips for harvesting and enjoying your homegrown shiitakes

No previous mushroom-growing experience is necessary! Whether you're a curious beginner, gardener, homesteader, or mushroom enthusiast, you'll leave with the knowledge and confidence to start your own shiitake logs.

We’re excited to welcome Good Dog Appalachia Dog Training to Paws on the Trails! 💛💚

Based in the Kanawha Valley, Good Dog Appalachia offers professional dog training services and will be on-site throughout the event to share information about available training options and answer questions from pet owners.

Guests will also get to see Good Dog Appalachia in action during a live scent work demonstration! Lesli will give a brief introduction to training and competition before her trained dog searches for a hidden scented Q-tip. 🐕👃
