What does being prepared mean to you?

For us, it means taking action before the smoke is in the air.

Creating defensible space and hardening your home can make all the difference when wildfire threatens your community. From clearing the first 5 feet around your home to reducing fuels out to 100 feet, these small steps can significantly reduce the risk of ignition from embers, radiant heat, and direct flame contact.

Preparedness isn’t just a concept—it’s a responsibility we all share.

Take a look at your home today.
What can you do to be better prepared tomorrow?

We’ve noticed some questions and misconceptions about our reorganization. To help clear things up, we’ve put together a myth vs fact page that explains what’s actually happening. Our mission to serve the public and care for our forests and grasslands remains the same.
