Ticks may be tiny, but the threat they pose to Pennsylvanians is anything but.

I recently participated in “Ticked Off: Increasing Pennsylvanians’ Awareness of Tick-Borne Diseases,” a policy hearing hosted by PA State Rep. Catherine Wallen.

Pennsylvania continues to see significant challenges from tick-borne diseases, and we need to make sure Pennsylvanians have access to the information, education, and resources they need to protect themselves and their families.

As legislators, our job is to listen, learn, and find practical ways to increase awareness and improve access to care—while keeping Pennsylvania families informed and empowered.

Thank you to Rep. Wallen for bringing this important issue before the legislature. Awareness is prevention.

The rising cost of everyday purchases is pushing people out of Pennsylvania, and it's a clear example of how the affordability crisis in the Commonwealth has gone entirely too far. We discussed recent population loss in Pennsylvania and the negative impact it could have on all current and longtime residents during last week's House Republican Policy Committee hearing on growth and affordability.

It's time we unleashed Pennsylvania's natural resources, add more jobs to our workforce, and continue supporting our businesses to the fullest extent to make the Commonwealth a place people are proud to live in - and one people move to for a more affordable way of life.

Pennsylvania is too expensive, and government needs to get out of the way of families and businesses that are trying to succeed.

I participated in PA State Rep. Thomas Kutz’s policy hearing on growth and affordability, hearing directly from leaders in the business, energy, and real estate sectors about how Pennsylvania’s tax and regulatory policies impact families, employers, and economic growth.

I’m proud to be working with Rep. Kutz on a 10-bill package focused on tackling these challenges head-on — lowering taxes, reducing housing and utility costs, easing the financial burden on families, and making Pennsylvania more competitive for businesses and investment.

We don’t need more government spending and more regulations. We need to make Pennsylvania more affordable, unleash economic growth, and let Pennsylvanians keep more of what they earn.

That’s the kind of common-sense, pro-growth agenda I’m fighting for in Harrisburg. 🇺🇸

On Wednesday, September 9th, I’ll have the incredible opportunity to take part in a truly historic session of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives at Congress Hall in Philadelphia.

As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, it’s especially meaningful to bring the House back to the place where our nation’s early leaders gathered. Congress Hall served as the meeting place of the United States Congress from 1790 to 1800, during a pivotal time in the founding of our country.

The day will also include a full-day civic learning experience for students through America250PA.

I’m especially excited to welcome Grant Michael, a student at Great Commission Schools, who will join me in Philadelphia for this unique opportunity to see history come to life and experience firsthand the important role Pennsylvania played in the founding of our nation.

I’m looking forward to a memorable day celebrating our history, our Commonwealth, and the greatest nation in the world! 🇺🇸

The Department of Health wants to rewrite the existing health code and reinstate some of the same overreaching policies we saw in the COVID lockdown-era. Strict government intervention didn't work out then, so why does the governor's administration think it will work out now?

Every life lost represents a family, a friend, and a community forever changed. It’s important that we continue to remember those we’ve lost, support those who are struggling, and work together to combat the devastating impact of addiction in our communities.

Today’s policy hearing brought me to Silver Spring Township, where I had the opportunity to meet Ray Palmer, the township manager.

It was especially great to discover that Ray has deep roots in Blair County. He’s an Altoona native and a proud graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle Academy!

It’s always a small world in Pennsylvania, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with fellow Blair County natives wherever my work takes me. 🇺🇸
