Overnight Standoff assist to the Altoona Police Department - Altoona, PA

🌙🚧Overnight Stand-off with Police ends peacefully!

Pleasant Valley Blvd was shut down during this morning's commute as Police responded to a domestic disturbance involving a gun.
Altoona Police were called to the 700 block of South 7th Street around 1:30 am for a male threatening his family with a shot gun.
After the direct threat was made to the victim, he was able to flee and call 911. Officers arrived and set up a perimeter around the house, while additional information was gathered. Information provided to Officers revealed that the suspect, now identified as 21 year old Patrick McIntire Jr., had threatened to shoot anyone that came to the house, including Officers. Altoona Police then shut down Pleasant Valley Blvd and surrounding streets, in an abundance of caution, as Officers continued to attempt contact with McIntire. McIntire was not responding to any method of communication and Officers continued their surveillance and investigative processes as the Tactical Response Team gathered. The communication attempts continued and furthered into attempted direct contact with McIntire. At around 9:30, a shot was fired from inside the residence. Officers were then able to observe a male lying on the floor and contact was made in the house. The male was found to be McIntire and he was uninjured. The shot fired appeared to have been fired upward, through the roof. McIntire was then taken into custody without incident and was unharmed. No Officers were injured during the incident. Pleasant Valley Blvd was reopened shortly after.

McIntire faces charges of Terroristic Threats, Simple Assault by Physical Menace and other related charges from the early morning domestic. Additional charges will follow relating to the stand off. He will be arraigned at a later time. No photo was immediately available.

We would like to thank the Logan Township Police Department - Pennsylvania and the Blair County District Attorney's Office for their assistance and also to the residents and motorists for their patience and understanding.

Here’s a message from your favorite local Police Department 💁🏼‍♀️. Attention everyone who is planning to leave their favorite hole-in-the-wall bar tonight:

If you’ve had a few Malibu Bay Breezes, or Mule Kickers (we see you on that patio girl it’s sunny and 80 degrees) and your plan to get home is “I think I’m okay to drive,” we’d highly suggest that you call a ride, as your judgment may already be altered.

Especially if you’re about to go fire up that Pontiac Aztek that’s somehow survived longer than any Brittney Spears top hits. Nothing beats “rolling the dice” quite like mixing alcohol, poor decision-making, and a vehicle that’s had a check engine light on since 2003.

And for the ones who want to make the argument, alcohol DOES NOT make you a better driver, it only makes you think you’re a better driver. The road, the guardrail, and the curb you blew your front tire out off of leaving the parking lot usually have a different opinion.

With that being said, before you leave the bar convinced you’re the exception, or it’s only “right down the road”, call a sober ride. The only ones chasing waterfalls should be TLC, not you.

Let’s make it home safely, while allowing others to as well.

🚨ARREST🚨

On May 30, 2026, the Logan Township Police Department was dispatched to the area of W. Clemson Road, for a suspicious vehicle in the area of the dead-end road. Officers responded to the location and were able to locate a vehicle registered out of New York, as well as the operator JOHNNY LEE DONNELL WYNN, also out of New York. When officers made contact with Wynn, they were able to detect the odor of ma*****na as well as Wynn's attempt to conceal a plastic zip bag containing several zip bags and a razor under his leg. Officers requested the assistance of Cpl. Fox and K9 Blue of the Altoona City Police Department. K9 Blue alerted on the vehicle and officers detained Wynn, transporting him to the Logan Township Police Department where a search warrant was applied for on his vehicle. Officers did apply for a search warrant which was approved by Magisterial Judge Blattenberger.

During a search of the vehicle, officers were able to locate approximately 900 empty labeled stamp baggies, 4 jars of ma*****na, a clear bag containing an unknown white powder substance, 60 gabapentin pills, 14 M**A pills, a digital scale, 5 cellphones, a Smith & Wesson pistol, (35) rounds of .22 LR ammunition, (4) 9mm rounds, and approximately 1800 dollars in US currency. Wynn is a person not to posses a firearm, from charges stemming from the State of New York.

Wynn was ultimately transported to Blair County Prison on the following charges:

F - Person not to possess a firearm
F - Possession with the intent to deliver
M - Possessing instruments of a crime
M - Possession of a controlled substance and other drug-related offenses.
