2025 saw The 17 year phenomenon that we all looked forward to was, as expected, pretty awesome! Before you hang up your waders, send them to us for the installation of a waterproof EZ-P zipper. We'll turn them around in a few days and when you start wade fishing again in the fall for steelhead (or fall slate drakes) , you will no longer have to disrobe to p*e. Or if you have decided on new waders, have them drop shipped to us to save on shipping. Call Bill Anderson for details..

I am booking guided trips for spring 2025. Our j hatches begin with BWOs in late March then the awesome grannom caddis hatch in mid-April, sulfurs early May through mid-June. And in mid-June 2025 we will see the awesome 17 year cicadas! I last fished this "hatch" in 2008, it was truelu amazing to see all our big wild browns feeding on the surface in the bright sun! Once again LJRA will sponsor fly tying at my house ( Sinking Valley near Tyrone) every Tuesday night at 7pm starting January 9th and ending the Tuesday before Easter. We will tie patterns known to be the best for the fussy browns on the Little Juniata River including my CET patterns and the best wets and nymph patterns for the river. We will also invite some of the areas best tyers to demonstrate their nymph and streamer patterns. As always, those who attended previously will be asked to returned. We have 9 returning tyers. So we have room for 3 more at the tying table. Contact me if you are interested. Beginning tyers are welcome. LJRA members (or willing to join) only. Bill Anderson

Our Little Juniata River Association meeting will be at the Bull Pen Restaurant in Tyrone on 7pm, December 14th. Our guest speaker will be Kurt Wagner, Pennsylvania Rural Water Association. Kurt has designed an interactive map for the Little J and its tributaries. He will present this new tool and also explain what his organization does.
