Due to the threat of severe weather this evening and the National Weather Service issuing a severe thunderstorm watch until 7pm, all events/programs through Altoona Parks & Recreation are cancelled for tonight, Wednesday, June 10th.

These include:
-T-ball 1
-Practices and Ball Games at Cinder City Park and 10th St. Ball Fields
-Rock'n on the River Summer Concert Series concert

Tomorrow, June 10th is the registration deadline for our NEW 9th – 12th grade 3v3 Youth Basketball League! This league provides high school basketball players with an opportunity to enjoy basketball in a fast-paced, fun and low stress environment while still learning and developing their skills! There is a boys league and a girls league. The registration deadline is June 10th.

*Dates: Wednesdays, June 17 – August 5
*Time: 10:00am – Noon (games every 20 minutes)
*Location: Highland Park

Reminder, our NEW Blue Blocks Drop-In program starts tomorrow, June 9th! Hope to see you for some parent/child playtime! These giant foam blocks are perfect for creative, hands-on, free play that encourages kids to build, explore, & work together. With these big Blue Blocks, kids make their own open-ended fun! There’s no right or wrong way to play with them!

As summer concerts and community events get underway in Altoona, the City of Altoona has issued a Declaration of Prohibited Smoking Areas to prohibit smoking, including va**ng, at concerts in River Prairie and at all times in The Yard - Altoona, Wisconsin. The Thundermen sponsored by River Valley Architects, Inc. will be taking the OakLeaf Surgical Amphitheater stage tonight in River Prairie Park at 6:30pm for the FIRST Rock'n on the River Summer Concert Series concert of the 2026 season while local crafters/artists will also be on the Front Porch Plaza!

The nonprofit of the night who will get a portion of the donation bucket is the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Greater Chippewa Valley.

Food Trucks tonight will be Big Papa BBQ LLC, Brooklyn Mike's Food Truck, Dhimiters Food Truck, Ne-Ne's Tacos, Beez Neez Cheesecakes and Sweets and Olson's Ice Cream

Hope to see you tonight!
