Healing Patch coordinator, Melody Ray and Home Nursing Agency Foundation director, Kim Helsel spent the past three days connecting and learning with other grief professionals across the county at the NACG National Alliance for Children's Grief Symposium in San Antonio, Texas! We are so fortunate to be a part of this wonderful community! 💙🦋

Craig Stevens from the page Hymie, Altoona's Ambassador is coordinating a t-shirt fundraiser in honor of Hymie's 80th Birthday with the proceeds from the sale being donated to the Healing Patch! The fundraiser is about "celebrating a man who has spent decades bringing smiles, friendship, and kindness to the people of Altoona while supporting an organization that helps children and families through some of life's most difficult moments". 🩵

Blair Senior Services, Inc. is actively seeking individuals to serve as Foster Grandparent Classroom Volunteers at local schools, daycares and summer programs all throughout Blair County. The Foster Grandparent Program is a PAID federally funded volunteer program through AmeriCorps Seniors.

Since July 1, 2025, our Foster Grandparent volunteers have served in a number of locations throughout Blair County! These locations include:

Volunteers are required to serve a minimum of 8 hours per week. Flexible hours Monday - Friday based on the availability of the volunteer and school station.

Benefits include:

Thank you, Healing Patch volunteer Shannon Morris, and founder of Falonssprinklekindnessinc Soeurs Grey for sharing her beautiful Wind Phone space for a memorial rock garden. Healing Patch families had the opportunity to create a memorial rock in memory of their loved one. Shannon warmly welcomes others in the community to create, weatherproof, and add their own memorial rocks to the garden at Legion Park, Hollidaysburg. 🍃🌹💛🌺💙🌼

Tonight we closed out our Wednesday Family Support Group for the summer. An evening of sharing, remembrance, and connection. We are so thankful for the families and volunteers who made these nights so special. 💙
