Fall Brush Drop-Off Dates
It’s almost time for fall cleanup! The City of Altoona’s brush drop-off site will be open on:
Saturday, September 12
Saturday, October 3
8 a.m. – Noon
These will be the final two days the brush drop-off site is open this year.
Getting there: Enter the Utilities Department service road from 8th St. SW. Continue south past the Utilities Department buildings and up the hill. The brush drop-off area will be on your left.
Altoona residents: Please have information available that identifies you as a City of Altoona resident when you drop off brush.
Please note: Loose or bagged leaves and bushes are not accepted at the brush drop-off site.
Get that fall cleanup done before the site closes for the season!

Traffic Signal Work – September 15 & 16

Iowa Signal will be replacing traffic signal cabinets at four intersections along 8th Street SW on Tuesday, September 15, and Wednesday, September 16.

During the work, power to each signal will need to be disconnected, and the intersection will temporarily operate as a 4-way stop. Please use caution and allow extra time when traveling through these intersections.

Tuesday, September 15
9 a.m. – 8th St SW & Scenic View Blvd
12 p.m. – 8th St SW & 17th Ave SW

Wednesday, September 16
9 a.m. – 8th St SW & Venbury Dr
12 p.m. – 8th St SW & 5th Ave SW
