ALTOONA ROAD WORK

Beginning on Wednesday, June 17, 2026, road work involving the north lane on 6th Street NW (west of 5th Avenue NW) will begin.

On Friday, June 19, 2026, road work will begin on the south lane of 4th Street NW (between 1st Avenue North and 5th Avenue NW).

Once the original road projects are completed, next week city crews will be working on the opposite sides of each roadway. Both road construction projects will reduce the roadways to one lane.

Please use caution and be mindful when traveling through these construction zones in an effort to help keep our city street crews safe.

At last night's City Council meeting, Councilman Josh Dunwoody was welcomed back by the Mayor, City Council, City staff, and members of the community following his deployment with the Iowa National Guard.
We are incredibly proud of his service and grateful for his safe return.
As a gesture of appreciation for the community's support, Councilman Dunwoody presented a flag to the Mayor. The flag flew over the base in Iraq where he and other Iowa service members were stationed.
