📢 Attention: Altenburg City Hall Will Open as Warming Center

As temperatures drop, the City of Altenburg is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our community. Starting today, January 6, City Hall is currently open as a warming center for anyone in need of a safe, warm space.

If there is someone that is in need of help with no way to get to City Hall please reach out. We are willing to come get you if possible.

There is a break in the water line on Poplar st. The water between Poplar and Church Street is currently turned off. We have repairs scheduled for tomorrow morning.

In the interest of public safety, Perry County is under a “No Burn Advisory” until further notice.

This advisory impacts all of Perry County, and the incorporated municipalities.

Extreme heat across the region, little rainfall and gusty winds prompted the Perry County Commission to issue the advisory on Monday, June 26 after discussions with local law enforcement, emergency management and leadership from local municipalities regarding the lack of precipitation forecasted for the region.
