Back to Back motor vehicle accidents this evening

18:10: Dispatched to the 1400 Block of Lynch Mill Rd. for a motor vehicle accident. Units arrived on scene to find a single vehicle that collided with the guard rail after his trailer tire blew. No injuries reported.

18:33: While on scene of the first accident, we were dispatched to the 1800 Block of Bishop Creek Rd. for a cell phone crash detection. Units arrived to find a two vehicle head on collision, heavy damage to both vehicles. Both drivers were injured and transported to LGH by CCPS medic units. The road was shut down for the duration of the incident.

VSP is investigating the cause of both crashes.

Rescue 10 assisting Co. 17 with a motor vehicle accident in the 600 Block of Johnson Mountain Rd. Units arrived on scene to find one vehicle that had flipped into the wood line. One patient was checked out by EMS. VSP is investigating the cause of the crash.

Technical Rescue Training at AFC | 2/16/26

Last night members trained on patient packaging in a stokes basket and simulated roof victim removals utilizing the ladder truck. Crews also focused on rescuer maneuverability and communication while operating around a suspended Stokes basket in the air.

These hands-on evolutions build confidence, coordination, and precision for high-angle rescue situations.

STRUCTURE FIRE ON COMMONWEALTH DR.

At 16:24 hours, Company 10 and CCPS were dispatched to a reported structure fire in the 1000 block of Commonwealth Drive. Chief 10 arrived on scene, established Command, and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story residence. The incident was marked as a working fire, and Station 31 (Hurt Volunteer Fire Department) was requested to assist.

Engine 10 arrived and initiated an interior fire attack along with a primary search of the residence. Medic 8-1 assisted crews with fire attack operations. Upon arrival, Engine 31 stretched a second line to the second floor, conducted fire attack, and completed a secondary search.

Three pets were located inside the home and unfortunately succumbed to their injuries.

The fire remains under investigation by the Campbell County Fire Marshal’s Office

2/8/26 - At 18:33, Company 10 and CCPS responded to Route 29 northbound at the Main Street exit for a motor vehicle accident with injuries.

Upon arrival, units found two vehicles involved. One overturned off the roadway and another remaining in the travel lane, both with heavy damage. Route 29 northbound was shut down while crews operated on scene.

One driver was transported to LGH for evaluation and treatment of their injuries. VSP is investigating the cause of the crash.

Units o/s: Command 10, Rescue 10, Medic 81, & Medic 810.
