Harvest W**e Festival Vendor Feature 🍯

Happy Bees Apiary NJ-VA is a husband-and-wife beekeeping team, John and Chris, who manage their own hives, located on and close to Smith Mountain Lake!

We got into beekeeping up in New Jersey (where we used to live) through a friend of ours, who was winding down his operation. We are avid gardeners and noticed that our flowers and vegetables were being visited by fewer and fewer bees each year. We thought beekeeping was a noble venture and the bees certainly helped our veggies! John retired in 2021, and we moved permanently to Smith Mountain Lake, where we are enjoying retirement and continuing our beekeeping venture!

We offer two varieties of our own raw, local honey for sale, as well as our specialty — creamed honey, which is 100% pure honey in a creamy spreadable form. We still have some of our bees up in New Jersey, so we’re able to offer two varieties of Jersey honey as well — not local, but still very tasty honey! We also offer comb and chunk honey as available (sometimes the bees don’t cooperate). In addition to our honey, we craft lip balm and lotion bars using the beeswax harvested from our hives, as well as 100% pure beeswax candles (tapers and novelty shapes) using our beeswax. Check us out at www.ilovehappybees.com!
