Taylor had a simple goal: that her family would never experience homelessness again. It’s a powerful hope we can all relate to—whether from personal experience or the deep desire to protect the ones we love.

After losing her father at a young age and spending years navigating the foster care system, Taylor worked tirelessly to build a different future. Today, she is a proud homeowner in Habitat’s Leadership Point community! 🏡✨

For Taylor and her brother, this isn’t just about buying a house. It’s about breaking a cycle, building permanent stability where there once was uncertainty, and thriving in an uplifting multifamily community.

Such a special day at Legacy Square! 🏡 🩵

We officially kicked things off with our Wall Raising yesterday, marking the start of construction for a 19-home community in Sanford—and we couldn’t have asked for a better group to share it with.

Take a look at some of the moments we captured: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Ey2JauKc9XtXBLbG8

We’re so grateful for everyone who came out to celebrate—our supporters, donors, and partners like Wharton-Smith, Inc. and Seminole County Government, whose vision and commitment serve as the foundation for this community.

Alongside them, were another group of wall raiser donors whose investments are helping build not just homes, but brighter futures: Big Nova Foundation, , GSeay, Inc., Builders FirstSource, KENPAT, FINFROCK, One Florida Bank, Florida Paints, The Tap Room at Dubsdread, The Joe & Sarah Galloway Foundation, Annunciation Catholic Church, and Guignard Company.

One of the most moving parts of the day was hearing from Habitat homeowner, Betsy, and connecting with Habitat homeowners—both current and future. Knowing that some of the families we met will soon build their lives in the community made the experience even more meaningful.

At the end of the day, it is always about more than building houses—it’s about creating opportunity, stability, and a place to call home.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made today possible—our incredible donors, partners, and volunteers, including Seminole County Government and Wharton-Smith, Inc., as well as the many supporters and neighbors who showed up to celebrate alongside us.

We’re especially honored to have future Habitat homeowners join us today—some of whom will soon call Legacy Square home. 💙

This $7.2 million investment represents more than construction—it’s a community coming together to expand access to safe, affordable homeownership across Central Florida.

Some gifts meet an immediate need. Others change the course of a family's future. What kind of impact will you make today?

When you join Habitat Seminole-Apopka's Give Local Circle, you're helping create something that lasts for generations. A child grows up in a stable home instead of moving from apartment to apartment. A parent builds equity instead of watching rent increase year after year. A family gains the opportunity to invest in their future, their education, and their community. The impact doesn't stop at one home. It ripples through neighborhoods, strengthens communities, and creates opportunities that can last a lifetime.

That's the power of giving local. And through the month of June, every new monthly commitment is matched 100% by the Joe & Sarah Galloway Foundation.

Join the Give Local Circle and help build a future that lasts far beyond today at https://habitatseminoleapopka.org/give-local-circle/

Jasmine knows exactly what she's working toward.

Born and raised in Orlando, single mother, and account manager. Jasmine is also pursuing her master's degree while raising her 7-year-old son. But despite working hard to build a better future, she found herself living in a home in need of repair for safety of her family.

When Jasmine was accepted into Habitat Seminole-Apopka's Homebuyer Program, she didn't waste any time. Within her first month, she had already completed 40 of her 200 required sweat equity hours. Why? Because this journey isn't just about buying a home.

As Jasmine puts it, it's about creating stability for her family and showing her son what hard work looks like. That's the power of homeownership. It creates more than a place to live. It creates an example. A foundation. A future.

Monthly donors help Habitat Seminole-Apopka partner with hardworking families who are willing to put in the work, but need an opportunity to achieve the stability and security of homeownership. Through the month of June, every new monthly commitment to the Give Local Circle is matched 100% by the Joe & Sarah Galloway Foundation. Join today and help more families like Jasmine build strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership.

The journey to owning a home is about building a stable foundation for the future. Just look at Carrie, a local childcare co-director who partnered with Habitat for Humanity after a difficult divorce left her priced out of the housing market. By utilizing our financial workshops and working with a housing counselor, Carrie successfully crushed her debt, built up her credit, and is now stepping into her own forever home—where she even plans to open her doors to foster children. Whether you want to escape skyrocketing housing costs or find stability for your family, our upcoming Pathway to Homeownership Session will give you the exact steps, timeline, and knowledge you need to succeed.

“Seeing a child pick out their room, to be able to have a yard to play in and do their homework in a quiet and safe place—it’s awesome to know you made such a difference in the life of a family.”

As Susan Rich, Chief Compliance Officer at One Florida Bank and Habitat board member reminds us, the impact of a stable home goes so much deeper than just a structure. It changes the trajectory of a child's life. 🏡
