It's all for a great cause! 💙

We had a blast lacing up for the Law Enforcement Torch Run in support of Special Olympics Illinois this month. As "Guardians of the Flame," officers across Illinois come together to help raise awareness and funds for year-round training and competition for Special Olympics athletes.

Since 1986, the Torch Run has raised millions to support training, competition, and opportunities for Special Olympics athletes across the state. 🏅

Thank you, Alsipians, for always standing behind causes that make our community stronger! 🙌

Alsipians, this doggo needs your help! This lost pup in a backyard at 12215 S. 44th Place. You know what to do! Let's help reunite him with his owner! He's a male and a little on the protective side.

Chicago Animal Care and Control is on the way to pick him up, but if you know whose doggo this is, reach out so his parents can get him home first!

Huge congrats to Officer Rocco Merlo on 20 years of dedicated service to the Alsip community! 👏🚔

From Patrol to Crime Prevention to Investigations and back, Officer Merlo protected and served the community bringing smiles and public safety through Officer Friendly programs in local schools and more.

He helped bring programs like Cop on the Rooftop, National Night Out, the Torch Run, Crime Free Housing and more to life in our community — and in 2016 PLOWS Council on Aging honored him with an award for his work with our elderly Alsipians.

Thank you for your decades of service, Officer Merlo - Wishing you all the best in retirement! 🎉
