September 1, 2026 Town Council Meeting Recap

Missed the meeting? Here’s a quick look at some of the topics discussed and actions taken by the Alpine Town Council:

**The Council reviewed the final draft of the Town of Alpine Master Plan as a discussion item.
**Resolution No. 2026-035, adopting the Employee Compensation Schedule, was approved.
**Funding was approved for the Temporary Roundabout Demonstration Project at Highway 89 and Greys River Road.
**The November 3 Town Council Meeting was rescheduled to November 2, 2026, at 7:00 p.m.
**The Council approved transferring the Peaks Investment Account funds to the Sewer Reserve Account.
**Rules were adopted for the upcoming Annexation Public Hearing, including a 75-minute public comment period.

The Town of Alpine is accepting proposals for the purchase and delivery of a 300 kW diesel generator and outdoor-rated automatic transfer switch.

📅 Proposals are due September 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM.

Proposals may be submitted by email, hand delivery, or mail.

Join us this Thursday, September 3 for one last evening of live music in the mountains featuring Chanman!

Step back into the golden age of American music as Chanman brings the Great American Songbook to life with solo jazz guitar, vocals, and stories behind the songs. Featuring timeless music from legendary composers like Duke Ellington, Fats Waller, Cole Porter, George & Ira Gershwin, Irving Berlin, and more, his set celebrates the unforgettable sounds of the 1930s and 1940s.

Playing a beautiful 1951 Epiphone Triumph, Chanman blends classic jazz, history, and storytelling into a performance that feels right at home under the mountain sky.

36 years of mountain-town tradition. 🏔️✨

This summer, Alpine celebrated the 36th Annual Mountain Days, bringing together live music, local vendors, family fun, great food, and the community spirit that makes this weekend so special.

🎨 Alpine’s America250 murals are here!

Four community-selected murals are now on display at the Lower Valley Energy substation, celebrating Alpine’s history, natural beauty, local character, and place in the American story.

Congratulations to the winning artists: Henessie Yoshida, Ashley Daniel, Elly Rainey, and Jamie Marvel!

💧 TEMPORARY WATER SHUTOFF NOTICE

Due to a Lower Valley Energy power outage affecting the well, the Town of Alpine Public Works Department will temporarily shut off water service on **Wednesday, August 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.**

Affected locations include:

* Bridge Targhee
* Timberview Estates
* Deadhorse/Alpine Business Park

Three additional affected residences will be notified directly.

Please plan accordingly. We apologize for this necessary inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding.
