"HIRING PROGRAM DIRECTOR"
“When disaster strikes, civil society is always first in line to offer a hand up to support Albertans through any emergency. This funding will help further enhance the capacity of civil society to provide immediate disaster assistance and bridge the critical gap between the time of disaster and the arrival of emergency services. I am pleased Bridges of Love will be using this funding to share resources and training with organizations across Alberta.”

CERT Summit 5 is quickly approaching and Bridges of Love warmly invites you to our next basic emergency training event. Over the past year we have developed a template that is proving as an effective tool for building resilient communities in the event of any disaster.

Since our training is on-going, every 2-3 months, it is okay to start the sessions at any Summit. Our next up-coming event is on Friday evening, June 12 (Key-notes - Alberta Hazards and Volunteerism and Liability) and the four Saturday modules, June 13 will be Fire Safety & Utility Controls; Search and Rescue, Terrorism and CERT Organization.

The following session will be on September 26 at the Kahanoff Centre which will complete the training with Disaster Medical Operations, Food Safety, Psychology of Trauma, and Personal Preparedness.

On completion of all the modules, you will receive a CERT Kit, Cap, Certificate and ID Card. Literature is included with the training as well as dessert, light breakfast, lunches and snacks. All for $149.00 (Adults) and $99.00 (Students). We appreciate the Calgary Foundations grant to keep our costs affordable.

For a short 3 minute video on our last two Summits, please see our CERT web site at www.bridgesoflove.ca and click on Summits and then go to Summit 3 and Summit 4 for two videos to give insight into our events. Ambrose University is a lovely facility so has been a pleasure to hold our Summits there. It is also on the C-Train line for those who wish to use Public transportation. Parking is free for our events.
