⚠ WARMING SHELTER INFORMATION ⚠

Please see the flyer attached for a list of warming shelters in Northern Michigan. These shelters are not sponsored by AHC. We urge all residents to take precautions and stay safe during this winter storm.

AHC will have telehealth visits available for all patients tomorrow, regardless of if the clinic in your area is open. If you need to speak with a member of our team or inquire about an appointment, please call 989-419-3849 between the hours of 10:00am and 5:30pm.

Right now, there are runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth in our community who need a safe place to land 🛏️—and caring adults who can offer stability, understanding, and hope 🌟💛.

Our Runaway Youth Program is looking for host homes 🏠 willing to open their hearts 💕 and homes for short-term support. By becoming a host, you’re not just helping a young person—you’re strengthening families 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 and helping youth reconnect, heal, and move forward ✨💪.

You don’t need all the answers—just compassion, patience, and a willingness to help 💗🌈.

💙 Thankful Thursday

During Poverty Awareness Month, we want to pause and recognize the incredible work of our Homeless & Prevention Services team at NEMCSA.

This team shows up at some of the most critical moments in a family’s life, helping prevent homelessness before it happens and supporting individuals and families in finding safe, stable housing when crisis strikes.

Through eviction prevention, housing navigation, emergency assistance, and compassionate advocacy, they help create stability, dignity, and hope during times of uncertainty.

Thank you for your dedication to meeting people where they are and living out our mission of empowering individuals and strengthening communities, one household at a time.

Help us support those in need throughout the holiday season.

We are partnering with the Sunrise Mission Homeless Shelter through the rest of the year to help make a difference in our community.

This month, we are featuring a special drink just for them! Our Home for the Holidays latte brings all the flavors of the season right to your cup.

A portion of the proceeds from every Home for the Holidays latte will be donated directly to Sunrise Mission.

Join us in spreading warmth, comfort, and hope this season.

Wisdom Wednesday: Understanding Rural Homelessness

When we think of homelessness, many imagine city streets or crowded shelters.
But in rural communities across Northeast Michigan, homelessness looks different and is often hidden.

These are our neighbors!

In September alone, over 200 households across our region were identified as experiencing homelessness, from Alpena to Roscommon.

NEMCSA’s Homeless & Prevention Team is working daily to rebuild stability and hope.

Homelessness doesn’t always look the same, but compassion and action always make a difference.
