Busy couple of days for Lincoln County Fire District 8.
We assisted on the Plum Point Fire, a 200-acre wildfire along the Columbia River. It was a true multi-agency effort. Due to the steep, sandy terrain and limited access, aerial resources played a critical role. Four SEAT aircraft and a helicopter handled much of the work, helping crews keep the fire in check.
Yesterday, we also responded to the Rusho Creek Fire, another approximately 200-acre wildfire caused by a lightning strike. Challenging terrain and remote access made suppression efforts difficult, but crews from several agencies worked together to stop the fire’s spread. The incident has now been turned over to BLM for continued management.
A big thank you to all the firefighters, aviation crews, dispatchers, law enforcement, and support personnel who worked together to protect our communities. Wildfire season is in full swing, and teamwork continues to make all the difference.
