Are you noticing that your utility bills are on the rise? Do you notice air leaks, or drafts in your home?
Could your home use some energy efficient updates?
If any of these things apply to you, and you have applied for the WI Home Energy Assistance Program, you may be eligible to have weatherization services done to your home.
What is Weatherization ?
During the past 50 years, weatherization services have been provided nationwide to millions of low-income families and individuals.
There is no cost to homeowners, and renters can also receive services with the approval of their landlord, who pays a small portion of the total cost of weatherization services.
In Wisconsin, approximately 6,000 homes are weatherized each year.
Western Dairyland has funding to weatherize 200 homes each year in our service area of Eau Claire, Buffalo, Trempealeau, Jackson, and Clark counties.
Weatherization services vary with each home, depending on how it was built and its current condition.
