Three things on our mind:

On this Memorial Day we remember and honor those who gave their lives in service to their country.

It’s also given this gardener cause to remember the term Victory Garden, only somewhat related. Not sure how many of remember that one.

Tomorrow- Tuesday at 7pm! We meet at the garden 🪴 🪏 see you there!

If you look closely, you notice that some of our radishes are much bigger than others. Probably because they had room to grow earlier. The same is true of carrots and all the other tiny seeds that we sow. If we’re lucky we will get to thin them.

Spring chores aren’t hard, well most of them, they are just never ending! But it’s raining today, so no watering 😊

We had 7 gardeners on Tuesday, despite the rainy forecast and occasional raindrops. Five more on Wednesday. Slowly getting our donor beds filled in. Some tomatoes, peppers, eggplant, and cucumber planted. Thinned the radishes a bit and got some more beds in shape.

It’s been a busy couple of days- apologies for a lack of photos!

Thank you to Gratiot Markets and MyMichigan Health for a fun afternoon yesterday. We met some great kids, gave away some seeds. (And a certain gardener got some kitchen knives sharpened 😊- multi tasking at its best!)

Our first crop of the season is in! Rhubarb- thanks for helping me get started on that yesterday visitor!

And.. we have another allotment gardener joining our group. FYI- the far back area is set aside for individual/plots.
