May 18 – May 31

The Alma Police Department is joining the Georgia Office of Highway Safety’s “Click It or Ticket” campaign to remind everyone that wearing your safety belt can save your life.

Seat belts are the single most effective safety device in preventing serious injuries and fatalities during a crash. Buckling up takes only seconds, but those seconds could make all the difference for you and your loved ones.

Georgia law requires all drivers and passengers to wear a seat belt. During this campaign, officers will be actively enforcing seat belt laws to help keep our community safe.

No matter how short the trip may be:
✔️ Buckle up every trip
✔️ Every seat
✔️ Every time

Together, we can save lives by making safety a priority.

🎉 Promotion Announcement 🎉

The Alma Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Officer Makenzie Davis and Officer Dawson Murray to the rank of Corporal.

Please join us in congratulating Corporal Davis and Corporal Murray on this well-earned achievement. Their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving our community have set them apart and made them deserving of this next step in leadership.

As first-line supervisors, Corporals play a critical role within the department. They are responsible for guiding and mentoring officers, ensuring policies and procedures are followed, and helping maintain the highest standards of service and accountability. They serve as a direct link between command staff and patrol officers, while also leading by example in the field.

Corporals Davis and Murray will work closely with fellow officers—providing support, direction, and leadership during daily operations and critical incidents alike. Their ability to build strong working relationships and foster teamwork will continue to strengthen our department and enhance the service we provide to the citizens of Alma.

We are confident they will excel in their new roles and continue to make a positive impact both within the department and throughout our community.
