Last Alarm service for retired firefighter Dale Caskey

The Stark County Firefighters Association is conducting a Last Alarm Service for Dale Caskey, retired firefighter from Washington Township Fire Department, on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at 11:00am, at Freeburg Church of the Brethren, 4470 Beechwood Ave. NE, Paris, OH 44669.

Current and former Fire and EMS personnel are requested to assemble at 10:30am.

Thank you Dale for your service to the citizens of Washington Township. Our prayers continue for his family and the Washington Township Fire family.

This past week, members of our truck committee made the trip to Lake Aerial, PA to inspect and take delivery of our brand new 2026 Kenworth Sutphen 2000 Gallon Tanker 5! This truck has been greatly anticipated by the department and community for the last few years! A few features of this new truck includes 2000 gallons of water, a 1500 GPM Hale Pump, a hydraulic lift for single lane portable water tank, and a single swivel rear dump. This truck will be replacing our current Tanker 5, which is a 2005 International front mount, 2000 gallon tanker.

Over the next few weeks, members will be trained in operations and driving of new Tanker 5 before being placed into service. We want to thank the truck committee for their hard and detailed work into building the best truck to serve Washington Township, and the surrounding communities. We want to thank the Washington Twp. Trustees for their support of the purchase, as well as our community for their continued support! We also want to thank Ray Capezzuto with Herb Fire Equipment for his guidance in this tanker build and purchase! Look for Tanker 5 on the road soon!

🚒 WTVFD GUN RAFFLE — BENEFIT FOR FIREFIGHTER KYLE ALBERT 🚒

Please help us support Kyle Albert, one of our firefighters who was recently injured in an off-duty accident. Our fire department family is coming together to help Kyle during his recovery, and we’d love the support of our community!

📅 Drawing will be held two weeks after the final ticket is sold.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Retired Firefighter Dale Caskey.

Dale dedicated 32 years of service as a volunteer firefighter with Washington Township, answering the call and serving his neighbors and community.

Dale’s dedication and willingness to serve will not be forgotten.

We are grateful for his many years of service and the difference he made in our community.

Please keep Dale’s family, friends, and his fire service family in your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.

Rest easy, Dale. We’ll take it from here. 🚒🖤
