🥞 We’re flipping National Pancake Day on its head! 🥞

In celebration of National Pancake Day on September 26, the Alliance City Health Department, YWCA Alliance, and The Commons, along with community members who oversee Blessing Boxes in the city, are teaming up for a Reverse Pancake Dinner to help stock the Blessing Boxes throughout the City of Alliance!

Instead of coming to us for pancakes, we’re asking our community to help us give breakfast back. 💛 From September 21–25, we’ll be collecting breakfast items that will be assembled into bags and distributed to local Blessing Boxes for community members to enjoy.

🥞 Items needed include: pancake mix (just add water only), syrup, canned fruit, tea bags, instant coffee, and other nonperishable breakfast items.

Next Tuesday (9/15/26) and Wednesday (9/16/26), our West parking lot and main entrance will be closed due to paving preparations. Please use our East parking lot and entrance those two days.

Today, on International Overdose Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost to overdose, recognize the grief of the families and friends left behind, and stand with those who continue to be impacted by substance use.

Overdose is preventable, and every life is worth saving. By reducing stigma, increasing awareness, and connecting people with support and resources, we can help make a difference in our community.
