I am running for the open County Supervisor position as an independent candidate.
My wife, Nicole, and I own and operate a diverse farm near Allerton. We have three children: Cody, Peyton and Emily. Cody is a freshman in the John Deere Tech Program at Northeast Iowa Community College in Calmar, Iowa. Peyton is a senior at Wayne Community High School and Emily is in 8th grade at Wayne Community Junior High.
I have lived in Wayne County my entire life. I am a first generation farmer and started my operation at 14 years of age. I have successfully run and grown my farm since then. I have employed numerous Wayne County residents as truck drivers and farm help throughout the years. We have recently purchased and renovated the arena in Allerton. We hope that the visitors to the arena will contribute to the success of the local businesses in Allerton and all of Wayne County. I have served on the Wayne County Fairboard since 2003. I have served on the MFA local board of directors for several years as well.
I hold Christian and Conservative values and beliefs. I hold honesty, integrity and a strong worth ethic in the highest regard.
I believe in personal property rights; with no county wide zoning or ordinances taking any of those rights away.
I believe we need to work to keep our county fiscally responsible to keep from adding unnecessary burden to our residents taxes.
I do not support the regionalization of county services.
I believe in keeping common sense at the forefront of decision making.
I believe we have a good group in this office now and would do my best to help keep things going in the right direction.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions about other issues. My cell phone number is 641-891-0736. We hold practices at the arena on Tuesday evenings. We welcome anyone to stop in and visit with me.
