🇺🇸 Never Forget.

Today, the members of the Allentown Volunteer Fire Company pause to remember the 2,977 innocent lives lost on September 11, 2001, and the countless families, friends, and communities forever changed by that tragic day.

We especially honor the 343 firefighters of the FDNY, along with the police officers, EMS personnel, military members, and other first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice while answering the call to serve others.

Their courage, sacrifice, and selflessness will never be forgotten.

We remember. We honor. We will never forget. 🇺🇸🚒

🚨 INCIDENT RESPONSE – TREE CUTTING ACCIDENT 🚨

This afternoon, Allentown Fire responded alongside Wellsville EMS, Rescue, and MTS units for a tree-cutting incident in a remote wooded area off Bill Allen Hill Road.

Due to the difficult terrain and remote location, UTVs were utilized to reach the patient. Crews worked together to access the scene, evaluate the patient, provide necessary treatment, and safely extricate the patient from the wooded area.

After evaluation, it was determined that air medical transport was needed to get the patient to a trauma center. Allentown 604 and Wellsville Rescue 3 worked together to access, assess, treat, and extricate the patient to Wellsville 803, which met Mercy Flight at Allentown Park.

🚁 Allentown 4 established the landing zone for Mercy Flight.

The patient was transported by air to a trauma center in Rochester in stable condition.

This incident was a great example of multiple agencies working together to overcome challenging terrain and provide rapid patient access and care. We would like to thank all of the crews involved for their teamwork and professionalism.

Some more exciting news we’ve been working on, we will be offering these classes free of charge to residents.

The purpose of this class is to help identify and teach the general public what steps to take in severe life threatening situations where waiting for help may not always be an option. This simple class can be taught in only an hours time and will earn each attendee a certificate of completion along with some techniques on how to stop traumatic bleeding
