Fellow tenants of Lehigh County’s Cedar View independent living community gathered Tuesday to celebrate the 100th birthday of June Koch, who has lived at Cedar View for nearly a decade.

At the celebration, JR Reed, Executive Director of Lehigh County’s Office of Aging and Adult Services, presented a certificate on behalf of his office, and a proclamation from County Executive Josh Siegel.

The proclamation recapped June’s life, including how she arrived in the world via a home birth in Bethlehem. It noted that she was a waitress for a good majority of her life and shared that one of her most memorable work places was in Las Vegas.

Also noted was that she enjoys watching all sports - excluding golf!

Executive Siegel held a press conference this morning to discuss legislation being introduced on June 24th to address interactions with ICE by county employees.

There was an audio failure during the conference, we were able to recover back up audio for members of the public who were interested in the full video.
