Governor Josh Shapiro came to Upper Macungie to announce that Chobani is will be making a $1.2 billion dollar investment here in the Lehigh Valley that will create over 900 new jobs. If you or someone you love is struggling, call or text 988.

Help is available 24/7.

September is Su***de Prevention Awareness month and the reality in Lehigh County is urgent.

As of July 2026, our Coroner’s Office reported 29 deaths by su***de more than three times the number of homicides.

Behind every number is a person, a family, and a community experiencing loss.

Su***de is preventable. Connection, compassion, early intervention, and access to support save lives.

Of those 29 deaths, 15 involved a firearm, reminding us that safe storage and creating time and distance from lethal means can be lifesaving.

This month, take action:
• Learn the warning signs
• Take QPR (which stands for Question, Persuade, Refer) or another gatekeeper training
• Check in on someone you care about
• Talk openly about mental health
• Know where to find help
