South Whitehall Township invites residents, veterans, first responders, community leaders, and visitors to join us as we commemorate the 250th Anniversary of American Independence through a special America250PA ceremony honoring our nation's history, service, and enduring spirit.
DATE & TIME: Friday, June 19, 2026 from 4:00pm- 5:00pm
LOCATION: South Whitehall Township Municipal Complex – Front Lawn (4444 Walbert Avenue, Allentown, PA 18104)
PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS:
* Musical Prelude performed by the Brandywine Colonials Fife and Drum Corps
* Opening Ceremony
- Welcome and recognition of Juneteenth
- National Anthem
- Invocation
- Historical Reflections
- Presentation on local and national history
- Selected readings from the Declaration of Independence
* Patriotic Musical Selections
- Traditional American hymns and patriotic music
* Tribute to Veterans and First Responders
- Recognition of those who have served our nation and community
- Reading of the names of Revolutionary War veterans buried in South Whitehall Township
* Closing Remarks
- Community reflections and commemorative recessional
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
- The event is free and open to the public
- Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs.
- Complimentary American flags and bottled water will be available.
- A historical display highlighting South Whitehall Township's heritage will be featured.
