💬 Community Conversations is back!

Join us Thursday, September 3rd at 6 PM at Sheridan Elementary for our next 1st & 6th Ward Community Conversations.

Recently, we partnered with Greater Faith Deliverance Ministries and Sheridan Elementary School to bring neighbors together for a Back to School Block Party & Youth Rally. We’re excited to reflect on that gathering, celebrate what we accomplished together, and continue the conversation about what’s next for our community.

Come connect, share your voice, and be part of the work happening in the 1st & 6th Wards.

🎒 We’re just two days away from the Back to School Block Party & Youth Rally!

We’re grateful for the neighbors, partners, schools, and organizations coming together to create something special for our young people and families. It takes all of us working together to create spaces where our community can connect, celebrate, and feel supported.

Join us for the Back to School Block Party & Youth Rally, hosted by Sheridan Elementary School, Greater Faith Deliverance Ministries, and Cohesion Network! 🎈

Get ready for an afternoon of free school supplies, backpacks (while supplies last), family fun, community resources, activities, and music by 🎧 Fury Anderson (aka Deejay Byg Fury) to keep the energy going all day long!

This event is all about coming together as a community to help students and families start the school year feeling supported, connected, and ready to succeed.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this month's Community Conversations with the 1st & 6th Wards.

This month, we continued working together to finalize plans for the upcoming Back to School Youth Rally, bringing neighbors and community partners together to prepare for an event that will welcome students and families back for a successful school year. We also spent time discussing other community priorities and ways we can continue supporting one another throughout the neighborhood.

Every conversation, idea, and partnership helps strengthen our community. Thank you to everyone who continues to show up and be part of the work. We look forward to seeing you at our next Community Conversations!

It's always inspiring to see what can happen when a community comes together with a shared purpose.

🚎 This morning, we chartered a LANTA bus as neighbors, partners, and community leaders joined for the Allentown Works Neighborhood Bus Tour.

Together, we explored Franklin Park, Center City, and the 1st & 6th Wards, learning more about the neighborhoods at the heart of the Allentown Works initiative. Allentown Works is a collaborative effort that brings together community organizations, employers, and local partners to connect residents with jobs, training, education, and other resources that remove barriers to opportunity and help families thrive.

Thank you to LANTA for providing transportation and to the many community organizations making a difference every day. Seeing their impact firsthand was a powerful reminder that collaboration is the way forward. When neighbors and partners work together, we build a stronger, more connected Allentown.
