Residents Living On Huckleberry Road The traffic on Huckleberry Road is increasing rapidly, including commercial vehicles. Slow down. This isn't Walbert Avenue ๐Ÿ™„

I drove back and forth to Slatington last week. Every time I came home, I turned right from Mauch Chunk Rd. onto Cedar Crest, and every time there was a long line of cars in the other direction, waiting to turn left onto Mauch Chunk. That left turn across traffic backs the whole thing up. It's already a mess at that intersection, before anyone builds a thing.

The Atlas data center plan adds a brand new road that ties Cedar Crest to Mauch Chunk. Some say will it connects at a different spot but, that doesn't drain the traffic that's already stuck at that turn. It just adds another road feeding cars into the same jammed corridor.

A different entrance isn't relief. It's more cars pouring into a place that already can't handle what it's got.
If they really wanted to help this intersection, they'd fix the signal or the layout right there. Nothing in the Atlas plan does that.

A special meeting regarding the Atlas Data Center will be held on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 (6PM to 10PM) at Parkland High School.

Fernwood Park at 1900 Molinaro Drive is less than 2 miles from the proposed Project Atlas site. This is where South Whitehall families bring their kids โ€” baseball fields, basketball, playgrounds, picnic areas.

If this project is approved, the people using that park would be breathing air affected by regular diesel generator testing, hearing industrial cooling equipment that runs around the clock, and navigating roads already strained by Ridge Farms with over 1,100 more vehicle trips added daily.

The park also sits on the same karst geology as the project site โ€” ground already documented to have underground voids and sinkholes.

This isn't just about the neighbors closest to Cedar Crest Boulevard. It reaches into the heart of this community.

Project Atlas is a proposed 410-acre, 5-million-square-foot data center campus planned for 2493 N. Cedar Crest Boulevard, directly across from Parkland High School.

The township's own review raised serious concerns about traffic, water infrastructure, noise, and emissions. The site currently has no public water or sewer, and the developer is asking the township to extend its watermain to serve them. That's a cost that falls on this community.

Cedar Crest Boulevard is already under pressure from the Ridge Farms development. Project Atlas would add over 1,100 vehicle trips per day on top of that.

Fernwood Park, where South Whitehall families gather year-round, sits less than 2 miles from the proposed site.

The township has until July 31 to approve or reject it. Get informed and share this with your neighbors.

Documents show that at least two South Whitehall Township departments do not recommend building the data center campus as itโ€™s currently proposed. https://mrf.lu/ycjh

It would be helpful for to send communication by either email or a letter, advising residents about massive decisions and how we'll be impacted. If one exists, how can I sign up?

The roads can't handle the amount of traffic currently. Filbert Street becomes one-way when Garbage and Recycling bins are out front.

Now we're supposed to absorb a 410-acre with 356 diesel generators running 24/7 and an electrical substation right across from the high school?

We're already dealing with with 780 new homes at and , with road widening that's been years in the making and still isn't done.

While it's great to receive information on Facebook about upcoming meetings with an agenda, I want to know the direct impact to residents regarding Nestle and Calvary temple for example.
