Our Allentown Police Department will soon have a new headquarters to call home.

This 22,500 square foot headquarters will replace the outdated 1963 building and provide modern training space, updated amenities, and a stronger foundation for recruiting new officers at a time when departments nationwide are struggling to hire.

In 2024, I was proud to secure a $150,000 American Rescue Plan Act grant to fund the fire department feasibility study and the design of the new police facility.

I’m excited to witness the progress we’re making to bring this much-needed project to life and help give our officers the modern facilities they deserve.

My staff attended the ribbon cutting for the new St. Luke's University Health Network's College of Health Sciences in Fountain Hill.

To help meet the growing need for health care workers, St. Luke’s University Health Network has opened its own college offering programs in radiography, respiratory care, and nursing, along with general education courses.

Graduates are guaranteed clinical placements within St. Luke’s and classes begin this summer, with about 150 students in the inaugural fall class.

Welcome, St. Luke’s College of Health Sciences to our area, and best of luck to the first class!

Welcome to the first installment of our new video series with The Allentown Parknership!

We’re kicking things off at one of Allentown’s most beloved parks, Trexler Memorial Park. 🌳

From its scenic 1.25-mile walking trail and peaceful duck pond to its towering shade trees and historic log cabin, Trexler Park offers something for everyone.

Whether you’re taking a morning walk, enjoying a family picnic, getting in a workout, or spending time with your four-legged friends, this park is a true community gem.

Parks like Trexler help make Allentown a healthier, more connected, and vibrant place to live, work, and play.

My team member Monique attended Fountain Hill Borough Memorial Day Ceremony to join our community in honoring the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country.

Memorial Day is not only a time to remember their courage and sacrifice, but also a reminder that we must continue honoring and supporting our veterans, military families, and those who serve our nation every day of the year.

Our team member Alexi recently attended the Girl Scout Gold Award ceremony honoring Ellodie Thomas of Troop 8587. The Gold Award is the highest achievement in Girl Scouting, recognizing exceptional leadership, community service, career exploration, and personal growth.

For her project, Ellodie revitalized two courtyards at Kenneth N. Butz Elementary by clearing debris, trimming overgrowth, and restoring the space. She also created a Science Learning Area with a lesson-sharing box filled with materials for outdoor teaching, and installed a shed stocked with tools so the Friends with Nature Club can continue caring for the courtyard.

Congratulations, Ellodie, on this incredible accomplishment!

I’m proud to introduce legislation to crack down on reckless ATV and dirt bike activity, including incidents where riders flee law enforcement, because our residents deserve to feel safe on our roads.

The Morning Call recently highlighted the importance of this bill and why action is needed. Our police chiefs see the impact firsthand. As the weather warms, complaints surge and dangerous behavior increases.

Officers are dealing with fast moving situations that are difficult to address, and this legislation gives them the tools they need.

In total, the 18 largest municipalities in Lehigh County have reported 1,830 motorbike-related complaints from 2023 to 2025, according to data compiled by state Sen. Nick Miller’s office.
