Allendale Fire Department

Allendale Fire Department AFD has served the residents of Allendale, NJ for over 100 years. It is staffed by professionally trained volunteers 24/7/365. Emergency 9-1-1.

Our mission is to provide the Borough of Allendale with Fire and Rescue services and provide support to the community. The Allendale Volunteer Fire Department is located at 1 Erie Plaza in Allendale, NJ. AVFD houses Engine 935, Engine 932, Truck 9 (941) and Rescue 9 (942). The department has about 50 active members and is 100% Volunteer. Each member goes through extensive firefighter training and

certification. Some members are trained at a higher level in technical rescue, heavy vehicle extrication, hazmat, confined space, collapse, and even emergency medical services. Department membership is open to anyone living in the borough and surrounding towns over the age of 18 years (16 to 18 years for our Junior Dept.) and information about joining can be obtained by stopping by Fire Headquarters any Thursday evening between 7:30 and 9:00 PM.

This evening, AFD was dispatched to Orchard Park Condominium Complex for a reported oven fire, crews were met with a smoke condition and a small oven fire. Crews extinguished the fire in minutes and vented the residual smoke.

24/7 365, AFD is a professionally staffed 100% volunteer Fire Department whose sole Mission is to protect life and property in this amazing community.

This past Sunday, AFD was dispatched to the area of Franklin Tpke and Cottage for a reported transformer fire. Once power was secured, crews were able to extinguish the pockets of fire on road and some brush. No injuries reported.

This past drill night, AFD along with Ramsey Rescue ramseyrescue practiced on forcing outward and inward swinging doors. In the event of a fire, being able to breach a door into a commercial or residential setting is very critical. Always happy to drill with our mutual aid Brothers and Sisters!

With School officially out for Summer, the members of the Allendale Fire Department would like to congratulate all of this year's graduates on this incredible accomplishment. Your hard work, dedication, and perseverance have brought you to this milestone, and we couldn't be more proud.

At approximately 11:50 am yesterday Allendale Fire Department was dispatched to the Nursing home for a confirmed fire on the roof. Units from Waldwick, Ramsey, Ho-Ho-Kus, and Saddle River were dispatched as well. Fire was controlled within minutes of Units arriving on scene.

No injuries reported

Last evening, The Allendale Fire Department had multiple calls in the borough after the storm passed through. One of the most notable was Squad 935 being dispatched to Hillside Ave for power lines down with a vehicle on fire. Crews arrived on scene and found an electrical worker in his truck trying to restore power to the area when live power lines came down on the vehicle. No injuries were reported. Crews worked into the early morning hours overhauling and getting the road reopened. 24/7 365 were at your service. 100% volunteer!

This past Tuesday, the Allendale Fire Department was dispatched to a structure in the borough for a reported brush fire called in by a neighbor. While FD was enroute, Allendale Police arrived on scene and quickly clarified the incident was a fully involved vehicle fire threatening the structure. Residents were evacuated as crews arrived. Fire was extinguished within minutes of the first due engine arriving on scene. No injuries were reported, all residents and pets were out safely.
