What is early voting?
Michigan now offers early in-person voting for at least nine days in all statewide elections. Early voting offers Michigan voters the opportunity to vote in person in an experience similar to voting at a polling place on Election Day.
When do I vote early?
Early in-person voting for the August Primary takes place Sat., July 27 through Sun., Aug. 4. Early voting sites are open for eight hours each day.
Where do I vote early?
Voters can visit an early voting site in their area to cast a ballot in person during the early voting period. Look up your early voting site at Michigan.gov/Vote.
How do I vote early?
The following steps can help you make a plan to vote early:

Is early voting secure?
Just like voting on Election Day, there are multiple security reviews and checks and balances in the early voting process.
Thousands of Republican, Democratic and independent election clerks, staff, and volunteers work together to ensure the early voting process is secure and accurate.
Strict security protocols are enforced to make sure Michigan’s elections system is among the strongest and most secure in the nation.

VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINES
Online registration for the Aug. 6 Primary Election ended July 22.
In-person registration at your local clerk's office for the Aug. 6 election ends on Election Day, Aug. 6 at 8:00 p.m.

The early voting period takes place July 27 through Aug. 4.

ABSENTEE BALLOT DEADLINES
Request an absentee ballot via mail by July 22.
Request a ballot in person at your local clerk's office by Aug. 5 at 4:00 p.m.
Return your absentee ballot to your local clerk's office or a ballot drop box by 8:00 p.m. on Aug 6.
