The Village of Allegany Department of Public Works is looking for summer help. Must be 18 and possess a valid NYS Driver's License. NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING PROPOSED BUDGET VILLAGE OF ALLEGANY

Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the Village of Allegany has prepared the annual budget for the upcoming year, June 1, 2026 to May 31, 2027. There is a 2.99993 % rate increase in property tax. This rate increase does not go over NYS property tax cap. On Thursday, March 19, 2026 a public hearing will be held at 106 East Main Street, Allegany, NY at 4:00 PM for the purpose of considering such budget. The itemized budget is on file in the office of the Village Clerk at 106 East Main Street, Allegany, NY where it may be seen by any interested persons during regular business hours 9:00am to 4:00pm.

Compensation: Mayor $6,500, Deputy Mayor $3700, Trustees $3200

Notice is hereby given that the Planning Board of the Village of Allegany will be meeting to discuss the subdivision (minor) application for 16 Oak Street as per Village of Allegany Zoning Local Law #2-2003, Subdivision Regulations adopted March 7, 2005, Article III, Section 3.4 Minor Subdivisions.


The Planning Board will meet Monday, March 16th, 2026 at 6:00 pm at the Village Municipal Building, 106 East Main St., Allegany, NY to hear all interested persons.

More information may be obtained at the Village Municipal Building during regular business hours.

Water Billing Error

Due to a system update an error occurred on the Village of Allegany 4th Qtr. Water bills. The billing amount and usage is correct however the billing date and due date are incorrect. The billing date is January 1st, 2026 and the due date is January 31st, 2026. For any further questions or concerns please contact the Village of Allegany Clerk’s office at 716-373-1460.

The village DPW will be going around tomorrow, Sunday, November 16th, 2025, to pick up curbside leaves and yard debris due to high chances of accumulated snow Sunday evening into Monday morning.
