This afternoon deputies responded to Aliso Niguel High school for an incident involving two students from the school. Out of an abundance of caution, the school was placed on a brief lock-down while deputies searcheded for one of the subjects involved. The situation was quickly resolved and there is no ongoing threat to students, staff, or community. We appreciate the cooperation and patience while deputies brought the incident to a close.

Aliso Viejo Police Services was proud to partner with California Highway Patrol, Orange County Fire Authority Engine 57, and Aliso Niguel High School for the “Every 15 Minutes” program.

This impactful program is designed to encourage students to think about the decisions they make before it is too late. Through a realistic demonstration, participants see the devastating consequences of impaired driving and the lasting impact one decision can have on lives, families, friends, and complete strangers.

Our goal is simple: prevent tragedy through awareness, education, and smart choices.

As a reminder, never drink and drive, at any age. Plan ahead, use a rideshare, call a friend, or stay where you are.

Deputies also had a fun relay race afterwards. Special thank you to the parents for letting the girls explore the Substation. We hope they earned their detective badge🕵️‍♀️
