From Ashes to Action 🌱

Join LA County Parks for a public conversation on wildfire recovery, ecological restoration, and the future of our landscapes.

Building on the launch of the Landscape Recovery Center at Eaton Canyon, the Ashes to Action panel series invites community members and environmental leaders to discuss wildfire impacts and solutions that strengthen long-term resilience. Rather than traditional presentations, these panels create space for meaningful dialogue between experts and the public, followed by a Q&A session.

Wildfires impact not only people but also wildlife and ecosystems. As habitats shift, species like bears, coyotes, and bobcats often move into new areas after losing their homes. Through collaboration and community partnership, recovery efforts aim to restore landscapes and support healthy ecosystems.

Panel Dates (RSVP required):

March 25, 2026
Discussion on the Eaton Fire’s impacts, climate change, and the role of the Landscape Recovery Center.

April 8, 2026

IN 2026, WIN continues to engage communities wherever necessary. “Convos in the Creek” is a series dedicated to engage policy makers, and boots on the ground leaders through dialogue; connecting resident concerns to local policy work. Look out soon for more footage from this conversation. Pictured; Director LA County Parks & Rec. On this one-year anniversary of the January 7 Eaton Fire, we honor the lives, places, and memories impacted, and stand with the Altadena community as healing and recovery continue. Altadena is a resilient community.

LA County Parks, in partnership with the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation, remains committed to restoring beloved parks, trails, natural areas, and tree canopy, while supporting the health of local ecosystems. Together, we are raising funds and working alongside the community to restore and revitalize Altadena’s public parks and natural spaces.

As part of this effort, LA County Parks is listening to the community and co-creating a reflection garden at Charles Farnsworth Park—a space rooted in remembrance, healing, and hope for the future.

Together, we honor what was lost and remain committed to Altadena’s recovery and renewal. 🤍
