Air defense forces neutralize 36 of 48 drones during night attack by Russia

On the night of Tuesday, August 12, Russian troops launched 48 drones and 4 Iskander-M/KN-23 ballistic missiles over the territory of Ukraine, air defense forces managed to neutralize 36 drones.

The press service of the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine announced this on the Telegram channel, the Ukrainian News agency reports.

MDAA Alert: 2025 Huntsville Alabama Missile Defense Champions

At the Height of the Golden Dome for America debut in Huntsville, Alabama, we kicked off our 23rd Missile Defense Season at the Van Braun Center at the 28th Space and Missile Defense Symposium.

We were honored to be back in Alabama to host our 23rd Annual Huntsville Breakfast of Champions on Wednesday, August 6, recognizing 7 Missile Defense Champions and our first ever MDAA Golden Ball recipient. We reflected on the past year's significance, including the Presidential election of Donald Trump and the Golden Dome executive order in the back drop of our Missile Defenses systems deployed around the World, and the support of our Allies' and Partners' Missile Defenses against the massive unprecedented daily missile and drone attacks on Ukraine and Israel.

MDAA's mission is to make the world safer by advocating for the development and deployment of missile defense systems to defend the United States, its Armed Forces, and its Allies against missile threats. Our foundational successes as an organization are forged from Advocacy for and Recognition of the Warfighter and Missile Defense Leadership Development, both Civilian and Military. These 8 Champions now join 1,642 MDAA Missile Defense Champions for their incredible service to missile defense.

We threw our first ever Golden Ball to the 2025 Missile Defense Agency Champion to Stan Stafira, BMDS Architect for the Missile Defense Agency, who has led the MDA Architecture for the Golden Dome for America and was the lead presenter and “the best presentation” at the Industry Day for the Golden Dome on August 7th.

Ukrainian Drone Reportedly Destroys Russia’s Cutting-Edge S-500 Radar in Crimea, Video

Ukrainian open-source investigators say a military intelligence drone has struck one of Russia’s most advanced air-defense radars—the 98L6 “Yenisey”—in occupied Crimea, in what analysts call a major blow to Moscow’s high-tech defenses, Ukrainian OSINT community CyberBoroshno reported on August 8.

The finding comes after Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) released footage showing drone strikes on Russian radar installations on the peninsula by its special operations “Prymary” unit.

On the night of August 7, Russia attacked Ukraine with 112 drones. The air force destroyed most of the enemy targets, but more than 20 hits were recorded.

4 European countries agree to buy a combined $1 billion in U.S. weapons for Ukraine

KYIV, Ukraine — Four European countries have agreed to buy $1 billion worth of U.S. weapons and send them to Ukraine under a new arrangement announced by President Trump last month.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed thanks for the assistance on social media.

Russian attacks kill 7, injure 37 in Ukraine over past day, damage energy infrastructure

Russian attacks across Ukraine killed at least seven civilians and injured at least 37 over the past day, including children, regional authorities reported on Aug. 6.

The energy grid in the Odesa and Dnipropetrovsk oblasts was targeted in what Ukraine called a blow to its preparation for the winter months.
