Today we celebrated the ribbon cutting for the I-95 Landfill Complex Solar Array Project — Virginia’s first solar array constructed on a closed landfill!

This project has been years in the making, and I’m thrilled to see it come to life as we continue working toward our goal of carbon neutrality by 2050. Investments like this create cleaner energy, reduce long-term operating costs, and benefit taxpayers for generations to come.

Thank you to the Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services, the Fairfax County Office of Environmental and Energy Coordination, and Madison Energy for their dedication and hard work in bringing this project across the finish line.

I am pleased to announce that the elevator at Sherwood Regional Library is back up and running! Thank you to everyone for your patience while repairs were completed.

🎉How about a little bit of good news to finish off Wednesday?🎉

After a long outage, the elevator at Sherwood Regional Library is FINALLY back in service. Not only is the second floor that is home to our tech lab and the Friends' book sale fully accessible again, but we can also accept more (and larger) book donations at this location!
