Fairfax County Asks Residents to Follow Stateโ€™s Stay at Home Order
-------------------------------
Fairfax County strongly urges residents to follow the stay-at-home order issued by Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam today.

This order is critical to help slow the spread of the coronavirus as cases continue to climb across the state with 225 confirmed cases in the Fairfax County Health District. Social distancing is the most effective method to limit the diseaseโ€™s transmission.

The governorโ€™s action, which currently remains in effect until June 10, means that residents should stay in homes with only a few exceptions for essential activities, including:

โœ… Getting groceries or medicines.
โœ… Caring for a sick family member or friend.
โœ… Getting medical care for yourself.
โœ… Going outside for exercise for yourself or pets (although not in groups larger than 10 people).
โœ… Getting necessary social or government services.
โœ… Traveling to and from work or place of worship.

Do not go out unless you need to go out.

FCFRD Fire Stations Closed To Public

In order to protect the health of our firefighters and medics, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue is closing all fire stations to the public, effective Friday, March 27, at 5 p.m. These closures are in coordination with Fairfax County governmentโ€™s decision to close county government buildings to the public.

Notices will be posted to the front door of each station directing visitors to call the station for any inquiries. Exceptions will be made for any emergency that would require members of the public to enter the station for treatment. We will miss interacting with our communities at our fire stations but feel this is a necessary step to ensure our personnel stay healthy and able to serve the residents of Fairfax County.
